LSC Small Business
The Small Business Development Center at Lamar State College-Port Arthur will present two business pre-venture orientation workshops and a special one-night Business Income Tax seminar during February.
SBDC director Linda Tait, a former IRS agent and a certified public accountant, will lead the Business Income Tax seminar, which will meet from 6 to 9 p.m. Feb. 1.
Attendees will learn what information should be collected for filing accurate tax returns, what documentation the IRS requires to prove business expenses and what to do in the event that the IRS selects your business to be audited.
The course fee is $10.
SBDC business consultant Conrad Cooper will lead a February 6 pre-venture workshop from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the conference room of the Gates Memorial Library, 317 Stilwell Blvd. on the Lamar-PA campus.
SBDC business consultant Kasey Taylor will lead a Feb. 20 pre-venture workshop from 9 a.m. to noon at the Nederland EDC Office, 1901 Atlanta.
BDC pre-venture orientation workshops are free. They cover business plans, funding, employees and taxes for first-time business owners.
The LSC-PA Small Business Development Center offers individual consulting for small business owners at no charge.
